Battle of the Seasons - Episode 10

Postby Cake for Brains » Sun Apr 15, 2007 1:42 pm

I have to confess that I'm pretty happy with the way these polls seem to be going, so I thought I'd go on right ahead and start off the next one. I think we got 16 votes for one of them - which is a personal record for me!

You know the drill by now - vote for your favourite 10th episode from the eleven seasons.

The poll will remain open for a week.

Happy voting!

A fairly poor batch here in my view - not one single classic episode. 'Back Talk' gets my vote though, I suppose.

Back Talk is the only episode in this lot that I would call "great" although Merry Christmas... could give it some competition. Still Back Talk for me 100%.

Pretty bad list that, ''Back Talk'' is a shining beacon.

Yeah, I really struggled to vote for my choice from the first 4 seasons. All of which were uninspired. Out of the bad bunch I chose Liar, Liar. :?

It's probably the best of that bunch, and the only one I would maybe sometime make a point of watching.

WEBKYN would be my second choice - with 'Liar, Liar' third.

'Merry Christmas Mrs M'. The rest of that list doesn't grab me at all.

Back Talk for me!

I really enjoy Back Talk and I love it when Daphne comes out in about 80 layers of clothes to give Frasier his massage.

I also just love the way Kelsey says the line "Oh, he meant Niles. He's crazy about you!" It's another one of those "delivery" lines of his that make so many Frasier lines so classically great.

As for the rest of the batch: Oops is amusing, I like Where Every Bloke Knows Your Name (mostly, I love the way it ends) and Merry Christmas Mrs. Moskowitz has it's moments but it's ruined by the ridiculous Martin/Frasier fight IMHO.

And as has been mentioned on various threads, It's Hard to Say Goodbye if You Won't Leave ruins what was a good story arc.

Of them all them all though Jr. Agent is by far the worst! Just YUCK!

Where Every Bloke Knows Your Name

as an Englander I tried not to take some of it personally (insult the Queen...!!!) anyway I thought this probably one of the best. Frasier's shouting of I spell my colour with a U! as he's carted out...excellent.

Probably the worst choice of episodes so far, from these polls.

I've always thought Merry Christmas, Mrs Moskowitz was pretty over-rated, but i've enjoyed it more lately (except that ending), and it's high up in this set. I think Back Talk just about sneaks it.

Some of these episodes do lack the punch, mid-season blues perhaps. A lull in the storm. A lack of Ted Danson, who knows.

Jesus, what a miserable bunch! I went for Back Talk, a monumental, if not particularly hilarious episode.

The selections for the seasons 8. 9. 10 and 11 are pretty pathetic.

But Cranes Unplugged and We Two Kings are at least tolerable. The same can't be said for Junior Agent and SeaBee Jeebies!

I'm a big fan of Where Every Bloke Knows Your Name so have voted for that. I enjoy the final scene where Frasier is in the oub and he and Daphne are argueing over Britain against the US and Frasier takes it that bit too far!
