Frasiers Paintings

Postby digiman » Fri Feb 09, 2007 11:43 am

Hello, does anyone know the painting in Frasiers apartment (in the hallway near frasiers room). It had the words ' du soldat' and had bits of orange, yellow and black colour.

Any knowledge you be much appreciated.

Is it the Rauschenberg (you can sometimes just see the 'enburg' of his name along the top of the painting) that can be seen when near the pillar in the living room, looking towards Frasier's room? I seem to remember it being orange/red, yellow and black? I don't recognise it as a genuine Robert Rauschenberg though, so somebody may be able to confirm its authenticity?

Thanks very much for this information. Now just have to find out the title
Any ideas?

I also read (on the web) that the painting is indeed an original. But who really knows.

A shot in the dark, but I don't suppose there's anything about it in the "Frasier's Apartment" S1 DVD extra?

I have never been able to find the title, but I came across this site that was quite an interesting read.

This is the picture i'm thinking of:
Image

It was a poster Rauschenberg created for one of his exhibitions in 1977.

It doesn't contain the words du soldat, though, so it may well be a different pic you are thinking of?

Painting ?

Postby digiman » Tue Feb 27, 2007 11:25 am

hmmm.. was that indeed the painting in the hallway?
I was envisaging the words 'du soldat' (The Soldier)
could I have been hallucinating?

Its the words that mean so much to me.

Well the search goes on.

I'll keep intouch if I come across any info..

You might be better to show us a screencap of the pic you're talking about, if it's a different one, because the pic i've posted above is definitely the one on the wall in the hallway between the living room and Frasier's bedroom.

Here's a shot that includes the Rauschenberg poster on set, just for clarification.

It's a Robert Rauschenberg print (not an original). Prints of the same poster can be bought @ http://www.acegallery.net/artistmenu.php?Artist=56#. Though, the cost up to $1k.

Frasier's Paintings

Postby cutty » Wed Oct 31, 2007 10:18 am

Hi :)

I love this one painting in Frasier's Apt. The one behind the piano, (Not the blue and orange vase, though I like that one too), but the brown one with the white and blacck stripe rake vertically down it. must admit that I'm not sure if that one large painting or two different ones.

I have been searching off and on for several years and cannot find a print of that painting. Just to be specific, it is the one that can be seen when the camera is pointing toward the kitchen. Daphe had to pass by it to go to her room. Maybe you could describe it as the one behind the piano, but it is onthat wall hat goesto Daphe's room. It has red, yellow and maybe blue as I recall colours, has kind of hour-glass shape figures. It is an abstract. I guess one could say there is a black line dividing it down the middle. The entire thing looks to be maybe 3 ft x 4 ft. ??? I would love, love, love to have a print of it. I have searched printsellers on line. But, I would need the name of the artist. Anyone have any idea? DEAR GOD -------SOMEONE MUST KNOW!!!! Thanks in advance - Adele

Painting in question is large, framing is too large, pallet similiar to Matisse (Blue, White, Black with Red piping). Do not know anymore.
Painting at left of front door is challege, Surrealism or Cubism (Dali or Braque)?
Paintings behind piano are installed as a diptych. Decorater art most likely.
