I can imagine. Really, I just want to imagine, no need for examples!

No probs - though did at first wonder what had generated 3 pages of discussion in such a short spave of time. That was until I read it... :)

On to the actual problem then

I can only apologise for the incredibly annoying times when that particular error message appears, however I am working on a solution which should help to prevent it happening more frequently, though the possibility of it appearing will never go away.

Hopefully, it will be implemented over the weekend, but there should be no visible impact to site visitors.

Cheers Stu! :)

I only find it a bit frustrating when I've just finished typing a post or PM and have to do it all over again.

Other than that, it's not too annoying considering it's relatively infrequent.

It's been happening loads tonight. There was about an hour or two where I wasn't able to get onto the site, which was a bit frustrating. And also during the day once or twice.

It happened to me too. I tried to come on around 11 a.m. and kept trying until about noon.

I tried again at around 1:30 p.m. and the message came up again. It's been fine for me so far this evening, though.

The maximum connection error message is the one that came up for me. It's been fine for me today, though.

I can only apologise for yesterday's outage - it was something outside of my control and I had to wait for the network guys to put things right. Unlike Amazon or Google, this site shares the server with a number of others and consequently we could all be affected by problems with any one of the sites. I saw the load on the server we reside on shoot up on 3 or 4 to over 98 at one point - thankfully it seems to be OK at the moment.

While I did make the change at the weekend has mentioned above, it wouldn't have made any difference as to what could stop it happening.
