Just watched Ham Radio, one of the best in S4. We ration Frasier to one episode per day (sometimes two if we've good), with our breakfast.

Sliding Frasiers 3/5

At the beggining when Frasier says hes going speed dating and Roz ask's whats that i don't quite belive she wouldn't know what that was having been on the dating scene for most of the first few seasons . Oh and even as a Daff/Niles fan i find the loved up pair annoying in this ep.

Roz got dates the regular way she didn't need any kind of dating service or speed dating.

 I think the main reason Roz needs speed dating explaining to her is so it can be explained to the audience.

One reason is that perhaps the concept was not very well known at the time the episode was filmed.

A little quote from wikipedia...................

The first speed-dating event took place at Peet’s Café in Beverly Hills in late 1998.[1] Soon afterward, several commercial services began offering secular round-robin dating events across the United States. By 2000, speed dating had really taken off, perhaps boosted by its portrayal in shows such as Sex and the City as something that glamorous people did

Sliding Frasiers was first aired on 3rd Feb 2001.

So, the first speed dating was done late 1998, but we don't know how late so let's (for aguments sake to see if the theory holds water) say 1999.

The episode was aired two years after the first ever speed dating session took place, but how long before being aired was the show made?
And how long before the filming were the scripts for the season completed?

So i'm guessing that the scripts were completed perhaps as early as a year after the first speed dating, and at that time not everybody knew what it was.

Or, perhaps it was thought the foreighn market wouldn't understand the concept so the explaination was for their (our lol) benefit.

I didn't know what Speed Dating was until it had been around a while. I just don't think it's that unusual for Roz to not know what it was. Especially given the fact that Roz DID date a lot. This would mean she didn't need things like speed dating.

My first post in a long while..

My coffee with Niles 9/10

Been re-watching the show again in spurts, and just finished "And Frasier Makes Three." Aaron Eckhart's acting still SLAYS me.

Frasier: "What happened to your hand?"
Frank: "Ah... I was so mad last night, I punched a raccoon. God, I'm a bastard!"

Adventures in Paradise I and II 9.9/10

This episode never gets old for me. From Niles learning to "blow smoke" to Frasier jumping up and down on the bed to Lilith showing up and eating the mango on a stick. It's just funny all the way.

I'd forgotten what a lovely little gem of an episode You Can Never Go Home Again is.

That's one I strangely never remember anything about, but always end up really enjoying it when it comes around during a DVD marathon.

I think there's something really sweet and rewarding about being reminded of how fraught the relationship between Frasier and Martin was and then seeing how far they've come in the space of three years.

the good son

best pilot ever. kind of like a mini movie, it has such great emoitonal range mixed with great comedy and one liners

my fav line is when niles , after frasier agrees to take there dad, orders " a big slice of cheescake"

and the phione call at the end when martin thanks frasier, so well done. brilliant

Ugh! The Crucible is the only episode of Frasier that actually makes me angry!

First Date 8/10
Da-Phyllis!

The Two Mrs. Cranes 9.5/10

Blah, blah, blah Clive's accent. Yada, yada, yada. I don't care. The episode cracks me up!

I like Clive and his accent. He's undervalued for his role in a great episode.
