I think A Room With a View was actually one of the highlights of S10. Funny it ain't, but it showed Frasier can do 'dramedy' as well as any other show on the box. I just think a lot of people have trouble adjusting to the characters when confronted with such a serious situation.

Daphne's family.

The mismatched accents of the brothers. Why do they all have cockney accents, while Daphne and her mother are both Manchester? The writers of Frasier are obviously fairly clued up about the UK which makes this anomaly quite bizarre.

Her mother. She was obviously intended to be an irritating character. But I never warmed to her as I did with Bulldog. Millicent Martin's comedy timing didn't match that of the rest of the cast either.

The whole "Date that goes wrong" storylines. It peaked at Three Dates and a Break up IMO and then just got frustrating to watch.

Yes! Thank you! I agree with this completely.
Why do daphne's brothers have cockney accents? This baffles me.
And in terms of what annoys me about the show... Daphne's mother. That's it.

his non support of people to put there hearts on the line because the person is already with someone else. this just rarely happens in real life. people profess there love all the time. wouldnt you rather your brother be happy than someone else?

Especially when Daphne gets dumped by Joe and she starts dating that Rodney feller. There's a lovely end to that episode though.
I hope there is a Niles out there for me.

Why oh why do they give Daphne the most horrendous dress sense in season 8?
From the first episode, what is that ridiculous shirt she is wearing? Almost makes you want Niles to say "I've mad a god awful mistake!"

I didn't like Mel, but I'm a NilesxDaphne shipper to the end. lol I think Mel would've been an agreeable character if Niles hadn't been in love with Daphne for so long. I mean, if it was only like three or four seasons instead of 6, I might've liked her a lot better than I do.
He's not irritating, but I'm not a big fan of Kenny. He's pretty funny, but he hasn't had been cracking up except for that one scene when Roz and Kenny are mocking the other person's gender.
Don't get me wrong; I love that Daphne and Niles got together, but I missed the admiring her from afar thing.
Also, that Frasier and Roz didn't get together! They had such a good understanding of one another, and they would've been so good together!
And.... after season 9: LESS EDDIE!
Once Moose (the original Eddie) retired and they replaced him with his son Enzo, I've been seeing less and less Eddie! And Eddie's hilarious!!
Well, what show doesn't give you irritations. Nothing's perfect, but it's an amazing show, and the most brilliant and funny sitcom I've ever seen, this and Seinfeld.
I wish more shows were like this, but alas, nothing. (Except for maybe How I Met your Mother and the Big Bang Theory)

Oh, yes! I loved those episodes too!
I thought it was really creative how they showed the characters' pasts, and Daphne's future. I thought it was so cute with Niles holding his son and saying "Say hello to your baby sister."

 Isn't Niles holding a little girl at the end of the episode?

You could say that it's a continuity mistake, but the little girl might not be the oldest of their children

I absolutely love Frasier. One of the greatest sitcoms ever made. But I totally agree about the accents of the brothers, and one other thing, Antony Lapaglia's performance is utter hell. Ruins every episode he's in. It's painful when any of Daphne's family turn up but he is the worst character, totally unbelievably played in an awful, awful performance.

Frasier is imo by far the best sitcom ever made. Never has any other series given me so many moments of entertainment and even insight. Unfortunately, there are quite a few things that annoy me about the series. Here goes:

Bad actors, especially Daphne, Frederick and Noel. Also Daphne’s brothers in the later seasons.

I think there’s a fine line between storylines/acting which are moving and just cringe worthy. As far as I’m concerned, it has to be “show it, don’t tell it”. Frasier unfortunately sometimes did cross the line and became cheesy. The ending of Our Father Whose Art Aint Heaven is a particularly dreadful example of such a cringe worthy moment. When it’s delivered much subtler, as for example in Momma Mia or The Maris Counselor, it becomes beautiful and very touching.

The overall style changed in the later seasons – to the worse. I think they should have stuck with the kind of comedy which was delivered in seasons 4 and 5 where the show peaked. I rarely watch episodes past season 9.

Bad character development. I didn’t mind Daphne’s change because quite frankly – and I know this will upset some fans – I found her very annoying in the early seasons anyway. But I definitely did mind what happened to Niles who lost a lot of his endearing snobbiness for which we came to love him in the first place.

The marriage of Martin and Ronny. I didn’t care much for her, but that was in particular because I just didn’t find it credible at all that she would go for Martin. Sure, he is a charming guy, but he is also way older than her, shorter, and walks with a cane. These things do happen in real life, but they are definitely the exception, and why not set him up with the wonderful Sherry who was a perfect match for Martin and with whom he obviously has perfect chemistry?

As opposed to many Frasier fans I really liked Charlotte and thought she was a quite good fit for Frasier. But I do agree that it was completely rushed, and we never really got to know and appreciate her.

The overly happy ending. I didn’t like the last episode very much (apart from Frasier reciting the poem and his goodbyes to Martin and Niles which was all very emotional). It was as though they just all had to have something great going for them at the end. They were all finding love, moving up the career ladder, having babies and so on - hardly very credible and a bit corny to be honest. I did like the Frasier story line though – that he was moving to a new state again to start a new life (and presumably fight for Charlotte).

Only one thing really - the British accents from everyone apart from Daphne. Simon's is way over the top and also a type of cockney - he's supposed to be from Manchester isn't he?? The Brits down the pub are massively unconvincing, and the strange dialect employed by Clive, Daphne's ex boyfriend is just insulting.

To be fair, it's not unique to Frasier, loads of American programmes have a skewed perception of how people over here talk.

Agree with all that. If only they had done a Maris to him, he wouldn't have got the chance to irritate and ruin certain episodes.

This is gonna be somewhat controversial, but after Season 7, I found the character Frasier pretty grating.

1. The apparent need for Comedy shows to wander into the unfunny waters of serious drama from time to time (yes, I dislike Rooms with a View  )
Is playful/comical acting in any way less valuable that serious acting? I think not. We all know that the people on the show are well trained actors/musicians/dancers and not some hapless pretty faces dragged in from some casting show, so I don’t need “proof” of their abilities to do serious drama - not on my favourite Comedy show anyway. We can also see very clearly that the characters they play care very much for each other and, again, I don’t need that spelled out for me as if I were a bit slow. Some melancholy moments like Martin at the end of ‘Momma Mia’, fine, but please leave it at that. Hence I find Rooms with a View pretty pointless and annoying.

2. Empty coffee cups to go. They don’t have to be filled with hot coffee, but surely some water would do no harm? It happens all over the telly and the hollow “klonk” of an empty cup set on a table never fails to irritate me!

3. Unsuitable choices as love interests for Frasier. Lana/Lorna – seriously? I would have thought that after she yells into her phone to her kids for the first time, a man like Frasier would never want to further pursue a woman like that. And Caitlin? Hmmm…

Frederick in S6 onwards. What a spoilt little brat!

The Lana/Lorna thing annoyed me, one episode she's Lorna, then she's Lana - I know the reasons why the name was changed were explained (obviously not in the plot) but it just frustrates me to no end  I didn't like her as a character either.

A couple of the continuity errors irritate me to no end, particularly when Frasier's birthday is, and Martin having "never had a brother" and then suddenly having one.
