Anyone else getting this?

Postby Mr Blue Sky » Sun Jul 27, 2008 12:10 pm

It's happened on every post I've made today...

Definitely not just you. I've had that too (and on PM), which has resulted in a large number of multiple posts on my part that I've think I've tidied up, but if I haven't then sorry! :?

EDIT: Just to prove me wrong, the first time it hasn't appeared was when I just posted the above ( ), so maybe everything's ok now???

I've sent Stu the details. I'm sure he'll sort it when he logs in. I don't think it's a big issue; the posts are still going through.

I think it's to do with the script that sends the reply notification e-mails not working, I haven't had any today.

Depending on you settings, you may get an e-mail every time someone replies to a thread you've already posted in (or are 'subscribed' to). For most of the day these haven't been coming through, and I think the "emailer.php" in the error message has something to do with it :)

I have my settings selected to NOT notify me of replies, but I guess if the e-mailer daemon is fucked then it will still return that message regardless of your individual settings.

I didn't even know you could do that (I think I might be too dangerous to be allowed on the internet alone!!! ) so I definitely don't have it set to that either!!

Is the problem continuing for anyone/everyone?? I've not noticed it anymore.

Thanks BS for the heads up on this issue, and for everyone's updates. Good to see it seems to have resolved itself, there isn't anything much I could have done, it's something the site hosts have to resolve.

Just to clarify, any event that could generatre an e-mail (topic notifications, new PM's, new registered user) could have displayed that error before it was fixed.

If it starts to happen again, let me know via this thread and I'll see if there's a more permanent solution to this issue.

I've been getting this again tonight, anyone else struggling?

My posts have appeared on the board though, so I don't think it's too serious.

Here's Stu's explanation from last July, I expect it will fix itself soon.
